Frequently Asked Questions about Cartia

Q: What is a Duentric® coating?

A: Duentric coating is a special coating that is designed to prevent the aspirin from being released in your stomach. The aspirin is released lower down in the intestine to help minimise stomach irritation.

Q: Does the Duentric coating make the aspirin in Cartia® any less effective?

A: No, this coating does not reduce the effectiveness of aspirin. In fact, the Duentric coating helps to release the aspirin lower down in the intestine where it is absorbed gradually. This gradual absorption is believed to be necessary for the best anti-clotting effect.

Q: How does low dose aspirin help reduce the risk of another heart attack or stroke?

A:: Low dose aspirin helps thin the blood, and has been proven to help lower the risk of another heart attack or stroke.
